The Regional Centre, Delhi-I was established in the year 1989 as the ‘Delhi Regional Centre’. Subsequently, after the establishment of another Regional Centre in Delhi and bifurcation of jurisdictional area in 1998, this Regional Centre was re-christened as ‘Delhi-I’. The jurisdictional area of Delhi-I was further divided after the establishment of yet another Regional Centre at Dwarka (Delhi-III) in 2008.

The Regional Center at Rajghat is one of the largest Regional Center of IGNOU in terms of enrolment of students. It is also known as RC at Delhi-2 and covers the North, North-West, North East, parts of Central and East Delhi districts. The center was established in the year 1998. The center has presently 46 Learner Support Centres (LSC) comprising of 15 regular study centres, 22 programme study centres, 8 special study centres and one jail centre for jail inmates. Beginning with 19 Study Centres in 1998 and a student enrolment of 6425, RC Delhi-2 has grown to support more than about 65,000 learners (2014). This Regional Centre carries out multifarious activities such as admissions, re-registrations, establishment of LSCs, empanelment of part-time academic counselors at LSCs. The RC conducts periodic monitoring of centers, provides training to academic counselors and orientation to study center coordinators.

IGNOU Regional Centre Delhi-3 was notified on 27th October 2008 to provide better services to the students and public residing in west Delhi and Gurgaon district of Haryana. Dr. Rajender Gujral joined as Regional Director on 18th December, 2008.

Regional centre of IGNOU at Kolkata was established in the year of 1998 and is located in the fourth floor of Bikash Bhavan, Salt Lake City , Kolkata. This state government building houses some important offices of the Government of West Bengal. The building has all the offices of Ministers of Education and their respective departments. This helps us in maintaining greater interaction with the officials and policy makers on matters of education in the state. The state government provides IGNOU’s office space rent-free. This RC has a Computer Lab where in the theory and practical counsellings for CIC, BCA, MCA, MLIS and PGDLAN programmes are held.

The Regional Centre is approximately 20 kilometres away from the airport and 25 kilometres from the main Howrah Railway Station and 15 Kms from Sealdah Railway station. The Regional centre is well connected by public transport system. This helps many students and prospective learners visit the Regional Centre in person. We receive on an average 200 visitors at the Regional centre on a normal working day and the number goes beyond during the Admissions period.

The state of Orissa lies in the eastern side of the Indian union practically in the lap of Eastern Ghats enjoying the breeze from blue waters of Bay of Bengal. It covers an area of 155707 Sq.k.m. being situated between the parallels of 17049'N and 22034'N latitude and meridians of 81027'E and 87029'E longitudes. The Bay of Bengal forms the boundary line on the east with a coastline of about 450 kilometers. In the land it is bounded by the states of West Bengal in the north east, Jharkhand on the north, Chattishgarh on the west and Andhra Pradesh on the south. It has a population of 368.05 lacs which keeps a population density of 204 per sq.k.m. as per 2001 census. The male/female ratio in the state is 1000:972. The total Scheduled Caste population is about 16.5% and Scheduled Tribe population is 22.1%. Admission shall be done on the basis of the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by IGNOU all over India. The candidate will be required to submit the filled-in application form with attested copy of documents as specified in Entrance-cum-Admission Form. The original documents are to be submitted later after receiving offer letter for admission.

Established in March, 1991, the IGNOU Regional Centre at Pune, aimed to cater to the requirements and support to the distance learners of Maharashtra. IGNOU Regional Centre for Maharashtra was established in 1991 with Regional Office at Pune with 13 study centres. Prior to 1991, the Regional Centre of Ahmedabad catered to the study centres. Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks for general category/45% for reserved category as per Government of India rules, with 3 years’ managerial/supervisory/professional experience. OR

Professional Degree with 50% marks in:

Engineering/Medicine/Chartered Accountancy (ICAI)/Cost and Works Accountancy (ICWA)/ Company Secretaryship (ICSI)/Law.

Clearance of OPENMA T conducted by IGNOU .

There is no age bar.
